Elsie Currie was selected as a student choreographer to create a piece of dance for the Spring Appalachian Dance Ensemble, the most prolific opportunity for student dancers and choreographers at Appalachian State University, when she asked me to collaborate with her again. Early 2026  we began collaborating on this project, titled "Held", based on the idea of co-habitation. As an avid supporter of interdisciplinary creation, coming together with Elsie again has been one of my favorite projects of my entire undergraduate career.

Based off the Edgar Allan Poe short story of the same name, The Pit and the Pendulum was created from collaborative efforts between myself and dancer and choreographer Elsie Currie. We were give the opportunity for collaboration as part of her collaborative dance course that worked with the Appalachian State University composition studio.

I was commissioned by a member of the AppTV team, Jax Constantino, to write a short "exactly 1-minute" fanfare to open their first ever AppTV: Up Late LIVE show. This was relatively new in my compositional career and was an exciting opportunity for collaboration with non-musicians! The piece itself is inspired by superhero fanfares and medleys and is quick, fun, and works great for what it was commissioned for.
